Tracey and Gary's wedding was held on the 21st of September 2024 at the breathtaking La Seigneurie on the Isle of Sark. Their wedding was steeped in rustic charm and thoughtful personal touches. Every element, from the location to the decor, reflected the beauty of Autumn and their appreciation for the island’s unique character.
Gary had a very clear vision for their wedding stationery, and I was honoured to help bring it to life. Central to his request was a stunning watercolor painting of La Seigneurie by the late Margaret Waller. This piece beautifully captured the essence of their aesthetic in a stunning watercolour depicting their wedding venue. After securing permission from Margaret’s sole surviving relative to use the artwork, I began weaving this heartfelt element into their stationery.
Tracey, a devoted horse lover, also had her own special wish for the design—she wanted to incorporate reflective horses at bay. This tied beautifully to the island’s charm, where transportation is limited to bicycles and horse-drawn carts, and added a serene, rustic touch to the stationery.
After a detailed conversation with the groom to discuss their wedding themes and color palette, I set to work crafting a suite that captured their vision. Their floral colors, rich autumnal tones, and lucky horseshoe motifs were all incorporated to create a cohesive and charming design.
The stationery suite included:
Every piece exuded elegance while staying true to the couple’s vision of a rustic, heartfelt celebration.
Sark’s natural beauty and peaceful ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for Tracey and Gary’s wedding. The couple arrived at the venue by horse and cart, a delightful nod to the horses featured in their stationery. This thoughtful detail tied together the theme and highlighted Tracey’s love for these majestic animals.
Gary was a joy to work with throughout the process, and his eloquence in sharing their story helped shape some of the most beautiful worded stationery I’ve ever had the pleasure of designing. From start to finish, this project was a creative delight, brimming with autumnal warmth and love.
It was an absolute privilege to play a small part in Tracey and Gary’s wedding journey. Their thoughtful nods encorporation of their passions tied in with Sark’s traditions and their attention to detail made for a wedding style that expressed their aesthetic with grace.
To Tracey and Gary: Thank you for trusting me to create something so meaningful for your special day. I wish you all the happiness in the world as you embark on this new chapter together!
