Introduction:
Embarking on the journey of designing Chantelle and Alain's wedding invitations and favours was nothing short of magical. Inspired by their love for Alice in Wonderland and drawn to my more maximalist design portfolio, the couple wanted a unique blend of their favorite things and memories incorporated into their wedding stationery. The result? A whimsical wonderland that not only captured the essence of their relationship but also left a lasting impression on their guests.
Maximalist Wonderland Invitations:
Chantelle and Alain envisioned invitations that went beyond the ordinary, resembling old-fashioned letters with a touch of grandeur. We delved into their hobbies and passions, creating a design that seamlessly blended elements like Care Bears, Russian wolves, Dungeons and Dragons, Terry Pratchett, anime, archery, and their favorite festivals. Each bespoke illustration, inspired by John Tenniel's iconic Alice in Wonderland drawings, told a story of the couple's unique journey. To add an extra layer of enchantment, we printed the designs on specialist iridescent pink paper that shimmered beautifully in the light. The invitations folded into their own envelope, encasing a traditional postcard RSVP—styled up to the max.
Bespoke Brand and Wax Seal Elegance:
In addition to the personalized illustrations, we also crafted a bespoke brand for Chantelle and Alain, symbolizing the essence of their love story. This unique brand was transformed into a stunning wax seal, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the folded invitations. The wax seal not only secured the enchanting contents within but also became a symbolic representation of the couple's union.
Live Action Role Play and Interactive Invitations:
Chantelle and Alain's wedding encouraged live-action role play, creating an immersive experience for their guests. The bespoke illustrations and interactive elements of the invitations perfectly encapsulated the whimsical and fantastical ambiance they wanted to convey. The feedback from guests poured in, expressing admiration for the personalized and imaginative invites that set the tone for a one-of-a-kind celebration.
Festival-Inspired Custom Cups as Favours:
For wedding favours, we took inspiration from the couple's love of festivals. Custom festival cups featuring two bespoke designs were crafted to offer guests a choice. This not only incorporated their wedding themes throughout the venue but also provided practical and interactive favours. Guests could select their favourite cup style, creating a dynamic and engaging element to take home and enjoy throughout the celebration.
A Treasured Keepsake:
Chantelle and Alain were over the moon with the final designs, and it's no surprise that they chose to frame their invitations, turning them into a cherished piece of art to hang on their wall. The wedding stationery not only reflected their unique personalities but also became a timeless reminder of their love story.
